It’s not that the solutions proposed will not work, it’s that we don’t have the culture necessary for the political will required to act on those proposed solutions.

The only blemish on Tannenbaums record is probably the Pete Kendall affair. The rest of his record is outstanding. Remember, the guy that fires you is usually your boss. In this case it's Woody Johnson, Woody is a rational owner that has given Tanny the mission to create an exciting product and to sell PSL's. Favre and Sanchez were at least in part designed to create a buzz, to help increase sales in this recessionary time. Rex Ryan is all about team and team unity, this trainig camp in Cortland screams it. Tannenbaum is a consensus guy, Plax is great for the back page, gives your team the best chance of winning, and creates that buzz that sell's PSL's. But Tanny will not undercut a first year coach who believes that Team unity is a priority for the Franchise. Tannenbaum ain't going anywhere.

Thanks for the reality check, Jane. As much as I may like to grumble about Tannebaum at times, I think the scale still balances pretty solidly in his favor.

I would be surprised if Tannenbaum's job was in trouble as well. The team appears right now to have drafted well, he has been able to keep Jones and Washington without giving either more money and Favre was wanted by Woody Johnson as much or more than by Tannenbaum.

The Jets also were able to woo Scott from Baltimore, and these are all GM issues that Tannenbaun appears to have successfully dealt with. I'd have thought his job was more uncertain about the time Mangini was fired, but the GM appears to have rebounded well. Anyone else have a take on this?

Hello Jane! What can you tell us about this report?

http://blogs.nypost.com/sports/jets/archives/2009/06/report_jets_all.html

I'm happy that the Jets are out of the Burress sweepstakes, but a bit surprised that Tannebaum's "job could be in jeopardy". Is there something going on behind the scenes that we don't know about, or is the post blogger just blowing smoke?
