Deja vu, didn’t I do this at the same time yesterday? This time the Jets picked up Mario Urrutia, a wide receiver released by the Bengals. My guess is that this isn’t the solution to the No. 2 connundrum.
From the team:
Urrutia (WR/6-6/232/Louisville/Fern Creek, KY) entered the NFL as a seventh-round selection (246th overall) by the Cincinnati Bengals in the 2008 NFL Draft. He was waived Aug. 30 and signed to the practice squad on Aug. 31 where he spent the entire season. During his college career at Louisville, Urrutia tallied 130 receptions for 2,271 yards and 16 touchdowns.

1, Mario competes with Marcus Henry and Hugh Whittaker, reports have indicated that Whittaker has a huge lead.
2. Mario left school after a poor season with a variety of injuries, foregoing his senior season, looks like a big mistake.
3. Teams usually carry 5 WR’s, possibly six. Cotchery, Stuckey, Brad Smith, Clowney, Wallace Wright.
4. Does Mario have any Practice Squad eligability left ?
5.Mario has been injury prone with no evidence of an ability to play Special Teams.. the point here is that Mario has to really stand out as a big receiver to make this team..
ooijjjk gb v gb cvx….....Sorry me 10 month old son’s typing skills aren’t up to par yet. Each day is seems more unlikely that the Jets are going to pick up a big time receiver. Can anyone say “3 yards and a cloud of dust?”
Eric
I think your right. Last year the Jets were 16th in passing and completed 347 passes, for referance the Giants with the most effective running attack in the NFL completed 299 passes, the Ravens completed only 269 passes last year.
The Jets attack this year may resemble the Ravens attack of last year. Not only did Ryan come from the Ravens, Shottenheimer is a disciple of Cam Cameron the offensive cooridinator of Baltimore….
