Ryan really seems to believe in the principle that you cannot have too many DBs.

The Jets have an assistant GM ,who was formerly with the Eagles, has an in depth knowledge of their current roster. What I think that means is that you may see a lot of Philly players (after they are cut ) looked at by the Jets. The Eagles have recently taken the opposite draft strategy of the Jets. While the Jets have used mid round picks to move up in the Draft ( Harris , Revis, Sanchez and Greene) and aquire veterans ( Jenkins, Sheppard). The Eagles have traded down and aquired multiple low round and mid round picks. The eagles strategy is a much sounder fiscal policy, but you wind up cutting guys that can play. Look for the Jets to watch the waiver wire for Eagles, always a possible trade with Andy Reid.
Barksdale has a great opprotunity with the Jets, he has to beat out Marquis Coles, a free agent, the vertically challanged Coleman, and possibly Ahmad Carroll.
Coles should be easy to beat out, Drew is on his last legs as a Jet, next year he will be a Restricted Free agent. Carroll can’t cover ( without grabbing) but is terrific on Special Teams. We may find out how good a lobbyist , Westoff is in this new regime. ( Think about it, Carrol, Wright, Smith , Izzo all roster question marks ).
Jets active on the waiver wire , pick up Mario Urrutia, a 6’6 WR, 7th round pick of the Bengals in 2008, out of Louisville. I was hoping that Huey Wittaker, or Marcus Henry would step up and be that BIG wide receiver, apparently thats not happening to the Jets satisfaction..
