The Baltimore Sun is reporting that LB Bart Scott is getting closer to a deal with the Ravens before the start of free agency Thursday night at midnight. Here’s a link to that blog. Reporter Mike Preston speculates this means that Ray Lewis would be more likely to test the market and…. oh just connect the dots. Doesn’t take a genius to guess that his former defensive coordinator Rex Ryan might be making a call at 12:01 Friday morning.

Forget Lewis and hold on to Moore! If Tannenbaum outwits himself by letting Moore walk, he must be an idiot. A 7 milllion dollar roster bonus to keep the line intact is going to deliver better bang for the buck, than the small fortune it would take to bring Lewis into the equation.
Absolutely, David. I’m scratching my head too, as are most knowledgeable Jets’ fans. What are the Jets thinking?!
I’ll be totally unoriginal and mention the two instructional words: PETE KENDALL! Learn, Jets, learn!
This is going to be a Favre repeat if it goes through. You will have the fans who love it and those who hate it. We may even get a new “DAN” from Baltimore on this blog. Forget about the character issue. It is all about winning. A couple of sacks and stops on crucial plays and we will all be praising him for making our defense better. Although I don’t think it will happen. It is FODDER for the upcoming FA period. I am sure Rex is watching the waiver list. There are quite a few good players being released because of the salary cap and the current economy. This is just the beginning JANE. Get your skates, helmet, knee and elbow pads on cause this is going to be a rough ride!!!!!
David, I am on board with you. If Scott resigns then give the money to Moore. The o-line will be more important for a young QB this year then bringing in an ILB. Resign Barton and draft an ILB and let Rex work with Trusnik,Murrell and Cummings.
That sounds like a much more reasonable, Ira. Here’s hoping that Tannenbaum isn’t really as dumb as we are being led to believe.
reasonable idea…that is.
David,
Mr. T will do the right thing. I can’t beleive he will spend about 9 or 10 million for 3 years on a 34 yr old LB. I would be shocked.I hope Dallas offers him the key to the city and plants a tree for Lewis like NYC did for Favre.
Ira,
Great ideas for Dallas!
Let’s hope we’re all not shocked by the time free agency settles down.
It sickens me that we’re still talking about this “THUG” and that there some many better class of players out there to take a closer look at!!!
Please don’t resign Eric Barton….He gets toasted all the time. Did anyone else notice this or am i alone in this thought?
