Schotty and D-Rex meet today

On the Boomer and Carton in the Morning show on WFAN, new Jets coach Rex Ryan said he was scheduled to meet with offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer today. Schottenheimer was a strong candidate for the Jets head coaching job, and might have gotten it if Baltimore kept winning, but has yet to decide whether he will remain as OC.
Ryan said he wanted Schotty to stay, and could understand the assistant’s disappointment. Last year he was passed over for the Baltimore head job after nine years with the team.

I believe that this coaching change will be the best thing for the Jets!! No doubt bout that!
To Joe B and Alex go back to last post from Tuesday to see me answers to your questions.
Nice work Jane! whens the next web-cast??
What I don’t understand, is this thing about Schott deciding if he wants to stay.
He’s under contract.
Not that I want him as OC, but his only option is to sit out the season, and not be paid, if the Jets want him as OC, unless some other team offers him an Asst Head Coach position.
If he’s such a hot coach, as the Media keeps reporting, certainly some team would be willing to upgrade his position.
Since that isn’t happening, it seems obvious all this Schott-related spin, is coming from his people.
It’s baffling to me that the Jets want him back, let alone being played in the Media, like Schott is doing.
In the end, I suspect, the Jets will buckle, and give him a raise/extension/Asst Head Coach… thus, rewarding incompetence, again.
Colour 1:
I’ve already responded to your response.
Regarding Clemens as “fat,” you need to have your anorexia eyes checked.
Colour1. Clemens is 2 lbs lighter than Eli. I think he deserves a chance. Do you want a moody 40 year old. If it were up to me, I would try to sign Leftwich. He is only 29. What are your thoughts on that.
So far the best part of Ryan being signed, was during the interview he did yesterday wtih Michael Kayon ESPN radio.
coming back from commercial, he said “with us now is the new head coach of the New York Jets, Rex Reed”
You can imagine how quickly and forcefully this redneck who tips the scales at over 300 lbs reminded Kay that he isn’t
Rex Reed.
too funny
Bob,
It’s not as ugly a January day up here near Syracuse as it was the last time you made me laugh, but you’ve got me laughing again anyway. Jets’ fans need all the humor that can be mustered! Rex Reed! Too funny!
Joe,
Thanks for the factual support. That’s a great comparison.
Alex, OK maybe I’m a little wrong but he’s shows me no legs!! Leftwich is also a “tubbie” but he’s got moves!! As far as Favre goes he won’t be back. He’s thinking been there done that don’t want to do it again!!!
Rex Reed??? OMG!! well thats why he’s on radio???LOL!!!
It’s thawing out down here in Yonkers NY! Big 44 degrees today! Yeppie! Nest week I leave for Cali, and then to Chicago!!! thats not fare. Last time I was there last year it was -50 below with the wind at O’Hare!
Colour 1,
We’re just going to have to agree to disagree on this. You think Clemens is not the answer and I do. Let’s see what the Jets’ management decides.
But keep this in mind: McCareins’s dropped TD pass (an easy catch for anybody else!) from Clemens would have won the game: against Rex Ryan’s defense AT Baltimore! WITH A HORRIBLE O LINE! Rex has seen what Clemens can do very directly and I hope he has a good memory about it! I have a feeling Clemens is going to get his chance, since I agree that Favre is likely not returning. And another thing: If Favre has a lousy string of games, Rex will not be afraid to bench him, so we may see Clemens either way. If that should happen let’s hope, for the sake of the Jets, that I’m right and you’re wrong. I’m sure you just want to see the team do well as much as I do.
