Jane.. This is turning into joke. This team needs a take charge guy. A former head coach with big game experience. I know Cowher said he wasn’t interested in coaching. And Shanahan also said not interested. These 2 guys are egotistical maniacs. If Tony Dunghy or Wade Phillips job opens up they will both jump at them. They both want to go where they can win immediately and keep their legendary coaching status. We need someone like Billick. He will set high standards and turn this team around. Former asst. & college coaches wont get it done. We will be back next year and the year after complaining to whoever is doing this Blog. No more asst. coaches.
joe b,
I agree completely. I have been in favor of Billick since his interest was announced. He’s a good fit for the Jets in New York.
I would be fine with Billick. But I kust admit that I’m warming to Spagnolo. I have no clue why, I’m just have a feeling about that guy. Although I sais the same thing about Mangini….........
I fully agree that Billick would work for this team. There is still alot of uncertainty out there if it’s Billick or any of the coordinators.
But I wanted to bring up the fact taht I’m disappointed in the way the comments have been going on this blog. Jane (and her predecessor Andrew) have kept a very up-to-date, informative blog for us Jets fans. No need for smack talk and name bashing on this site. It’s been going on fine without that.
And then to read comments from a “Jet fan” (Brett fan!) about reporters knowing the same as an average fan is plain crap. Most do an excellent job (that’s you too Jane!) of keeping us well informed with what information they have. For those complaining about it, just stop looking at the blog and news reports then. Our only complaints should be about what the TEAM (not the god that is named Brett) is doing.
That’s all I wanted to say about this, and I hope the blog comments turns for the best. And sorry to all if that’s preachy, but wanted to make this comment.
I meant to say that between Billick, the coordinators, and anyone else that has been mentioned there is still alot of uncertainty.
Bob Sutton not remaining on this staff is the only certainty! Thank goodness!!
Phil T.,
I agree with you 100%. You don’t sound “preachy” to me; you just sound rational!
Spagnoulo is the answer. He will turn the defense into a monster which will take the pressure off the offense, give it more possessions and better field position. Schots offense against Spags defense would be no contest. Pick Spags.
I am leaning towards Spags too, Paul. I also like Billick. I think this playoffs will influence my decision at least. And Sexy Rexy has jumped out at me too.
Thanks Alex for the backup.
