Wintry mix in Seattle

Seattle is 3-11, and the Jets are playing the team at Qwest Field. Those two facts should strike fear into the heart of any Jets fan considering New York’s 0-3 record on the west coast against teams with losing records.
Damien Woody acknowledged that this game is deceptively difficult, even overlooking the Jets are 1-2 in recent games.
“It’s a big deal,” Woody said. “Adding to it, this is coach Mike Holmgren’s last home game with Seattle. I am sure they are going to want to send him out in a good way in front of the home fans. It’s going to be a tough game. Those guys play hard. They have a lot of pride over there. They have a lot of good veteran players, plus they know what is at stake for us. They are going to want to play spoiler, too. It’s going to be a difficult game to play.”
The Jets practiced in the white Friday, and it looks like they will get what weather.com describes as a “wintry mix” for the game today after snow in the morning.
And a little pre-game reading material. I did something on Vernon Gholston for today’s Journal News. I talked to Calvin Pace and D’Brickashaw Ferguson about their own learning curves, and Pace talked about how demoralizing it was when he was deactivated for two games as an NFL sophomore.
