Let it snow!

December
19

Eric Mangini is anticipating snow in Seattle, and that’s why today… PRACTICE IS OUTSIDE!

There are already a few inches piled up here in Florham Park (photo taken at 12:15 p.m.), the roads are a mess. The Jets are slated to leave at 4 p.m. on a Delta charter. Given that 374 flights out of Newark have already been cancelled today, wonder how that’s going to work out. Mangini said he just didn’t want to sit on a runway for five hours. Given that practice ends at 2 p.m., even getting to the airport in a timely fashion could be a challenge.

Other news out of the Mangini presser—first round draft pick Vernon Gholston had his best week of practice ever after being deactivated for the Bills game.

More after practice. I have to go layer up!

Update 1:29: The Jets cleared the turf field closest to the building and every staff member (including those in P.R.) helped to shovel the five-yard markers along the side.

Rob Turner and Jason Trusnik out-toughed everyone and practiced in shorts. There were a lot of snowballs thrown, and the No. 1 instigator was, no surprise, Eric Barton.

The weather here is supposed to be at it’s worse in another hour, when the Jets will have to head to the airport. Right now there is no update on a change of plans. They are waiting to get out of practice. Whichever way it goes, this is already a very different routine from the one the Jets had heading into their other three west coast games.

I would’ve taken more pictures, but my phone kept getting wet from the snowflakes.
