Ellis will play Sunday

Jets officials knew about Shaun Ellis’ Saturday arrest for marijuana possession well before the reports came out tonight, and the defensive end will still travel to San Francisco and play on Sunday despite the charges, someone close to the team said.
Ellis practiced fully on Wednesday and Thursday and was listed on the injury report with a back problem. One of six team captains, has seven sacks this season. The NFL is evaluating the incident to see if Ellis will be cited in violation of the league’s illegal substances policy, NFL spokesperson Greg Aiello said.
In the past, Eric Mangini has issued fines or other penalties for violating team rules, but as of right now Ellis will not be taken taken out of the starting defensive lineup. Obviously, any league action would trump that.
Fourth-string quarterback Erik Ainge was suspended for four games for violating the NFL’s steroid policy. RB Jesse Chatman served the same time for a masking agent to start the season.

There is some thought out there, that Ellis should sit out Sunday against the hapless 49’rs in order to “pre-emptively”
serve a suspension..and rest his back.
Thereby saving himself for tougher opponents later on.
the only problem is nobody is hapless against the Jets.
He better enjoy his playing time on Sunday, because that dumbass is probably going to get whacked hard by the league. Personally, I have no problems with recreational marijuana useage, but given his position and stature, he simply has to know better. I’m sure that his lack of cooperation with the police didn’t help him any either.
It is advisable to take part in a contest personally of the most effective blogs on the web. I’m going to recommend it all site!
