Adam Schefter of NFL Network reports that CB Ty Law, a free agent orginially drafted by the Patriots and a player with the Jets, has signed a one-year contract with the team and will be in green for the upcoming Thursday night game against the Patriots.
“This is going to be different playing Thursday night against the Patriots, matching up against my former team and the players I’m used to practicing against,†Law told Schefter. “I know they’re going to throw at me, but I welcome the challenge – bring it. I got the tricks for you.â€
The Jets are not commenting on the report, and there is no word on which player the team will cut to get Law on the active roster.

This guy is going to be in shape and ready to play in a game this important? If Law plays on Thursday, you tell me what is likely to happen. Could he be worse than what we already have? Could be.
I really don’t get this move at all. Just when I’m gaining faith in the Jets strategically, they go and do something that mystifies me. I really have a hard time seeing this do anything beneficial for them.
David,
We are one DB short of a solid defense, why not try someone new? even though he’s kind of old.
If we can go down memory lane with Favre, why not with law?
Miloslav,
I guess I just didn’t think they were quite that desperate and I have to admit that I’m really surprised they cut Miller. Something else must have been going on with that situation. Ty Law is a smart wiley veteran, but I don’t think he’s got the quicks he used to have and that could have the making of something ugly, if Welker is beating him off the line of scrimmage. I’m afraid to see him hop off the shelf and into a single man situation this week. I hope he proves my fears wrong.
