Fridays at Kerry’s

When the Jets moved from Long Island, Jets safety Kerry Rhodes refused to leave barber Cardigan Harris behind in Hempstead. So every Friday after the Jets practice ends, guys file out of the parking lot and go to his New Jersey home, where Harris waits to give them all cuts.
“A lot of people like my barber, they see how good he has me looking,” Rhodes said with a laugh.
About a dozen guys, including Jerricho Cotchery, Eric Barton, Darrelle Revis, Justin Miller, Calvin Pace and Wallace Wright are among those lining up at the barber’s chair Rhodes has installed in his garage—called Rhodes Cuts.
While they wait, Rhodes provides video games and said they sometimes play hide and seek in his house.
“It’s just a little time we get together to chill, relax and play video games,” Cotchery said. “Just getting closer with your teammates.”
Cotchery added that Rhodes has plenty of space for hide and seek, and that you could even hide in the elevator.
Sounds like a swank barber shop.
In other news: Things pretty by the numbers today at the Fort. No Eric Smith or David Harris, while Mike Nugent practiced and Bubba Franks rode the bike.
Jets coach Eric Mangini was asked about putting lineman Rob Turner in motion as he gets more use in the Franks/Chris Baker spot, a set called 21Jumbo. Mangini joked that when Turner is in they call it 21Pig. (Rob, if you’re reading this, I am so sorry.)
On Sunday the Jets will have a food drive at the Meadowlands. Fans are asked to bring non-perishable goods to benefit a Long Island food distribution network.
And for those who lamented my Flight Crew item, it got a heck of a lot more comments than anything I have written on actual football. Just saying.

Lets talk flight crew…who does their hair??..Cardigan harris?
I’m glad he has an elevator in his home. I wouldn’t want him tweaking a knee
bounding up stairs. I hope the house has wall to wall cushioning.
True about the crew, but I can’t say I was surprised about that. As soon as I read that post, I knew it would be huge. Methinks you must have had a feeling it would be too.
Honestly, I expected more vitriol. It had been simmering for a while though, so I decided to write it and let the chips fall.
