The Jets added running back Marcus Mason, who had been on the Baltimore practice squad, too the Jets active roster after losing Jesse Chatman for the season. James Ihedigbo was added to the active roster from the practice squad, and Brandon Renkart was added to the practice squad.

Jets coach Eric Mangini said S Eric Smith did not sustain a third concussion in the win over Kansas City.

Rob Turner, who came in for TE Chris Baker after he was suddenly scratched from the KC game, was named practice player of the week. Laveranues Coles was named offensive player of the week and Kerry Rhodes was defensive player of the week. Leon Washington and Chatman were named special teams players of the week.

Brett Favre said this year was the hardest he’s ever had in football, but I’ll expand on that and get the audio up later.

Update: Eric Smith and TE Bubba Franks were not out at practice, and LB David Harris rode the bike on the sideline.

I asked LG Alan Faneca about what happened when he inadvertantly tackled Brett Favre’s throwing arm in the first quarter against Kansas City.

“I was trying to figure out what happened and how I wound up on top of him,” Faneca said. “I was looking for a replay but they didn’t show that one.”

LB Jason Trusnik comes off the PUP list today. The Jets have 21 days to play or trade him.

UPDATE II: The injury report is out. K Mike Nugent is out. Franks, Harris, Smith and OL Damien Woody (personal reasons) did not practice. Baker, Coles, Cotchery and LB Cody Spencer (shoulder) were limited.

For the Bills, G Brad Butler (knee), RB Marshawn Lynch (not injury related), WR Josh Reed (ankle) and DE Aaron Schobel (foot) did not practice. S John Wendling (ankle) was limited, and G Jason Whittle (thigh) and CB Ashton Youboty (foot) practiced fully.

Good to hear that Harris is at least riding the bike. maybe there is hope for him to play this week.

One would think that Faneca would have control over all his 300 lbs.

I hope if he has little kids, none of them ever consider sleeping in his bed
