What they’re saying

There are a lot of story lines this week surrounding the Jets Miami game. Here are some interesting things being said during the buildup. I think it’s a strange link that Chad Pennington’s first game was in Green Bay. And the first day Brett Favre arrived in New York he mentioned that Pennington had a perfect record against him. Enjoy….
Miami coach Tony Sparano on Dustin Keller:
“I think he is a threat and I think that he’s an interesting guy because the more tape I watch, the more I see them try to use him in different critical situations if you will. In third down situations, he’s out there. Some of the red zone stuff; you’ll see him out there. So, I see him out there and in the mix so we’re going to have to be very aware of him. He’s a talented guy. We’ve seen that in the draft. He’s very athletic, can run, that can cause a mismatch sometimes.â€
Sparano on Chad Pennington being elected a captain:Â
“I think it says an awful lot about him and about his makeup. On the offensive side of the ball, we needed some leadership. We’ve needed somebody to come in to be able to provide that. He’s been able to do that. I think from the first day that he’s been here really; the players have taken to him that way. So, I’ve been really impressed with what he’s done that way, obviously, so have his teammates.”
Chad Pennington on season openers (wild coincidence alert):
“I remember my first opening day; my first opening day was in Green Bay, having a chance to go to Lambeau Field for the first time. Being able to see that, it was unbelievable, I’ll never forget it even though I wasn’t even playing. I was third that day, but it was unbelievable, the emotions, it was really fun and that’s what it’s all about.”
Kris Jenkins on the heat in Miami:
“I am looking forward to it. I was in Carolina for awhile. I was use to heat. I am cold up here so it’s going to actually help.”
Brett Favre on the Jets playbook:
“I’d be lying if I said I was completely comfortable, but I feel really confident in what we have in right now. (It) may be a little bit less than what they would have had in had I not come here. Believe me, each and every playbook across the league, you can go to bat with a lot less than what they put in.”

I hope Jenkins doesn’t really think its cold now. Wait until December….
I’m still not sold on Brett being happy here. He’s always essentially saying he’d doing the best he can, and he’s got a lot to learn….which is a far cry from being
excited and proud to be a Jet.
Did you believe Chad when he said he was proud to be a Dolfin?
About Chad, he arrived at his new team under very different
circumstances. He was dumped, so I would imagine he was more angered by the jets move, then Happy to be at his new home. Brett, on the other hand, was lucky to have a home, as few teams interested met the Packers requirements.
This guy should be ecstatic to be on the field, considering all the hoops he had to get through to do so.
Chad just got released.
Jets 31 Dolphins 17
I say Jets 31 Dolphins 17…..Good start for the boys in green.
