No, Sparano wasn’t totally cool with it

Miami coach Tony Sparano let Mike Westhoff come out to practice over the summer. At the time, Westhoff was out of the game treating cancer that occurred in his leg. On Monday, Jets coach Eric Mangini announced that Westhoff was back with the Jets, and would be calling the plays on special teams.
Today, Westhoff was on the Jets field at the team’s new complex in Florham Park, practicing his fiery brand of coaching with cane in hand.
Nice story, but if Sparano had known as he said, that Westhoff was “under contract,” he wouldn’t have invited Westhoff to hang out. The Jets and Dolphins play this weekend, and practices can be tightly guarded state secrets in the NFL.
“I really didn’t know,” Sparano said, “but it’s no big deal, still gotta play the game.”

Umm…So the head coach of the Dolphins, invites the Special teams coach of the Jets to practice??Was he told to bring his video camera, and given a play-book as a parting gift?
Did Parcells hear about that? I’m not a pro coach, of any sport, but this sounds like unsound strategy.
