Clowney won’t practice

Coach Eric Mangini said that WR David Clowney, who left Saturday’s preseason game against Washington after a collision, would not be practicing in the forseeable future with a “shoulder” injury. It was like pulling teeth to get Mangini to reveal that much. Clowney has had a good preseason and seemed in a good position to make the squad, so this is undoubtedly a setback.
Laveranues Coles will be practicing. He still hasn’t spoken publicly since Chad Pennington, his good friend, was released after quarterback Brett Favre came aboard.
The Jets have signed WR Larry Brackins, the 5th round pick of the Bucs in 2005 out of Pearl River Community College in Alabama. He has played recently with the Arena Football League Philadelphia Soul. Now we have practice, to be followed by Brett Favre’s weekly chat. We’ll have another update later.

Coles has to get over it. He knows that playing professional football is a business.
