Mangold treats the fans right

August
4

Amanda Pedroli and Anthony Casazza, two Jets fans from Sayville, L.I., came out to the evening practice  at Hofstra University tonight, holding a sign for their  favorite player  No. 74 Nick Mangold.

nickbefore.jpeg They held up their sign and shouted for the center to turn and look at it as he stood on the near sideline. He did, and it read “We (Heart) Nick Mangold.” You can see it above. OK, so he raises his fist in appreciation and jogs on the field for the next play.

End of story. Except that after practice, Mangold gets a Jets employee to find the kids and bring them on the field, where Casazza got to try on Mangold’s helmet as he signed their poster.

nickafter.jpeg (I have that picture, too, but he was kinda far away and my zoom wasn’t working…)

See kids? Some fairy tales really do have happy endings.

Back in real life however, it wasn’t so rosy. QB Kellen Clemens threw another pick, and OL Clint Oldenburg was carried off the field with an apparent right leg injury.

This is just like the Coke commercial when Mean Joe Green drinks thats kids coke.
    gosh..

Nice thing for Mangold to do. If Clemens continues to throw interceptions he might have to start fighting for the backup job (not seriously but his amount of interceptions are scary). I wish him well.

This is my first post, by a full time Ranger fan and a part time JETS fan. Well if they actually do something this year maybe i will tune in a little more. But I am enjoying Janes reports, keep up the good work Jane. Anything new today happening??
