OL Shawn McMackin, the Hofstra player who rose from the rookie camp to the roster, was waived today by the Jets, who also announced that they signed TE A.J. Schable. The 6-foot-4, 273-pond Schable was originally signed by Arizona in 2006 as a rookie free agent, but was cut before the 2007 season. He had 28 sacks at South Dakota.
In what is becoming a tidy pattern, the Jets have made all the recent roster changes at around 6 p.m. So chew on that.

I think that for the fans they should announce these things around lunch time and not after 3 pm so that the fans can make special plans to celebrate such events (I hope you realize I’m just kidding). Well since I only found out about this now I’ll have to celebrate tomorrow. Good Night and a Great Weekend.
Jane,
Isn’t it possible that the Jets are just late risers in the morning? So they like to get their business done in the late afternoon and then they announce it.
So on Jay Cross—he was hired to get them the West Side stadium. There is no West Side stadium. Does he have to give back some of his pay? Or at least apologize?
And when are we going to get some more roller derby news?
