Chris Baker was at the Jets mandatory minicamp today but didn’t practice with the team for long. The tight end said he “tweaked something” and instead rode a stationary bike on the sideline.
Later coach Eric Mangini clarified that Baker wasn’t held out of practice by the team, and that the issue was his back. Baker did say when he addressed reporters earlier that he’d taken three injections in his back last year in order to be immediately ready to play during the season last year.
When asked whether his back was an issue for the Jets, Baker said that his agent Jonathan Feinsod had been told specifically it wasn’t.
