It’s official — Jets pick Gholston

The draft is underway. Miami picked Jake Long, who signed a contract with the team earlier this week. He is now being interviewed for the 4,569th time today, from what I’ve seen on the NFL Network and ESPN.
Jets fans are packed into the seats at Radio City Music Hall, one was holding a sign that read, “The Jets Draft Blunders End Today.”
St. Louis goes with Chris Long at #2. Falcons go with QB Matt Ryan.
RB Darren McFadden goes to the Raiders. Those character issues won’t land to the Jets, but neither will the explosive offense. Kansas City picks DE Glenn Dorsey. Which means that the Jets get the player they liked all along, DE Vernon Gholston, who will fit nicely into the 3-4 defense.

JANE!
Before the Jets’ pick is announced, can you tell us who they SHOULD pick in your estimation. I know you’re new on the beat, but I bet you’ve been in your own personal “war room” all week.
I’d go with Gholston or trade down for a CB. But Then you leave your fate in the hands of the Patriots at #7. No easy answers here.
The Jets defense with the addition of Gholston have a great pass rushing attack, and their secondary is getting more experience together every year….Their offense isn’t the best, but I remember an old saying “The best offense is a good defense”. I expect good things from this years Jets, certainly not the 4-12 finish of last year…but somewhere along the lines of 9-7 or 10-6.
