Draft position

December
29

Based on what happens tomorrow the Jets (3-12) can draft as high as second or as low as seventh. It depends not only on whether they beat the Chiefs but what other teams do to each other as well. NFL draft order is based on records, with the first tiebreaker being strength of schedule (SOS). The team with the worse strength of schedule drafts first.

If the season ended today, the Jets would draft third. If they beat KC on Sunday, they would probably move down to sixth, and possibly seventh based on Baltimore’s SOS. They have the most winnable game among all of the three- and four-loss teams. There’s a good chance they win and none of the others do. If the Jets lose, they will draft no lower than fourth. So if you find yourself cursing out a victorious Herm Edwards on Sunday afternoon, console yourself with the thought of Darren McFadden in your backfield next year.

The best news is that San Fran now has five wins after the win over Tampa Bay last week. Because the Patriots get their pick, it ensures the Jets will draft ahead of our good buddy Billy Belichick.

My head wants the Jets to lose and have a chance at McFadden, Dorsey, or the Long’s. Mt heart, however, has a hard time wathcing the Jets lose. This is espeically true against a top three public enemy in Herm Edwards. I like the thought of having McFadden, Jones and Washington in the backfield and the things the Jets can do. Our second round pick will basically be a late first round and there is always that first round talent that falls out of the first. Hopefully, it will be an OT to complement Ferguson.

We really do not need McFadden—if he comes to us certainly draft him but trade him draft day to someone for something.. have it lined up before hand, because we do not need him but do anything to not let the pats have him.

Better draft high then win this meaningless game

If the jets lose this game it gives us the best chance to fill what we really need fixed in the draft and since there’s no reason to win this game the jets would be stupid to win it lets admit it we lost this season lets prepare best for next one

jets better draft OT Long, the line sucks they need new guards too but they dont really need a qb or rb and the defence isnt as bad as the offence, this is the biggest area of need

Well it seems as if most of the mock drafts have us selecting McFadden, and if he is truly as amazing as everyone seems to think he is than perhaps we should draft him. Personally, i do not think he is a better runner than A.Peterson, but that is what many scouts and football people are saying—if that is the case it might be hard to not take him.

    Talent vs. Need????
