It’s Kellen

October
29

Kellen Clemens will be the starting QB Sunday against the Washington Redskins, Jets coach Eric Mangini just announced in his presser.

Said presser is still in process so I’ll be back with more later, in case anybody wants to read some non A-Rod, Joe Girardi stuff today…

Next up in the “Be Careful What You Wish For” sweepstakes, we have Jets fans for “Kellen Clemens…”

This probably goes without saying, but I hope Jets fans don’t expect Clemens to come out and dazzle everyone this season. I expect every game to be an expanded version of the first drive he QB’d against the Bills. That bullet over the middle on 3rd down was amazing, something no Jets fan has seen in a long time (at least coming from a Jets QB). And then he threw the pick. Expect the last eight games to be just as bad as the first eight.

Everyone was predicting doom for the defense with Vilma out, the kid worked out fine. So will Clemens.

Of course there will be bumps in the road as there are for all talented young QB’s, but this is what 1-7 seasons are for.

Three weeks too late, but better late than never.

Unlike most, I think Mangini has handled this QB thing, pretty well, when ya take into consideration the locker room.
And I like that he made about Clemens, rather than Chad.

I hope he also gives Bender a shot. Clarke is obviously not the answer, and that Bender was finally activated, hopefully means he’ll get his shot soon.
Talking about shot, it’s too bad the O is looking so bad.
I was hoping that some team, would be foolish enough to offer Schott a HC job to him, this offseason.
Even last season, to me, he’s never shown he can devise a coherent gameplan, where plays setup subsequent plays.
As I’ve said before, there’s no method to his playcalling, as if he was using a magic 8-ball to call plays.

burf agree, never lets the offense get a rhythm.

something works, he never calls it again or pulls the player out of the game.

whatever happened to running a play until they stop it?
