Just a quick clarification here.
Leon Washington was signaling, “Bring it on,’’ as he neared the goal line on his 98-yard kickoff return. That’s what he said as he left the stadium today.
As a result, I completely retract any suggestion from earlier blog that he had repeated his previous year’s finger salute.
More later…

Wonder if I can post here yet, as I have been shut out this weekend. It was a beautiful win, and I expect another next week, but our defense had better wake up, because they remain a major disappointment.
Yeeha…it worked. Right before the half, a guy in the bar I watched at was calling for Clemens, but I cautioned him that with 1:38, Chad was the man. You give him the ball and turn the play-calling to him and it’s always a good thing. This is what makes him a great QB…they should let him run everything from the line of scrimmage IMHO.
Yup, David, I’ve been saying that for years, about letting Chad call the game.
At least with this coaching staff, they do give him some opportunity, unlike the previous guy.
My one pet peeve of the game… our offense has the Fins, soooo set up for play-action, at times. And Schott never took advantage. That long FG drive, I was screaming at the TV… inside the 20, on 1st or 2nd-down, it would’ve been a gimme.
And made the end of the game, a bit less gulpworthy.
