Remember defensive end Andre Wadsworth?

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

Well, the former third overall pick, now 32, is trying to “revive his career”:http://www.thelionsfanatics.com/tlfforum/index.php?showtopic=24460 and the hot internet rumor today is that the “Jets are interested.”:http://www.jetnation.com/?p=863 Of course, Wadsworth hasn’t played since 2000 and has undergone four knee surgeries since his last game for the Cardinals.

Is this what GM Mike Tannenbaum and coach Eric Mangini mean when they say they like thinking outside the box?

To be fair, I have no confirmation of this yet so this is sort of throwing the spaghetti against the wall and seeing if it sticks. I’ll see what I can get today and check back later.

That’s an odd story about Wadsworth.

Andrew do you know if the Jets have anymore visits set up for any other free agents? The only names I’ve heard rumored to be coming to NY are DL David Bowens from Miami and RB Chris Brown from Tennesse. I also heard that Mangini is in KC for some awards dinner so I guess some visits may be delayed. I know the Jets are usually not big players in free agency, but it seems like things have been a little too quiet out in Hofstra. Plus it’s going to be hard for the front office to ignore all the movement up in New England.

I actually saw this on another site, not as great as yours though, and supposedly he was in fantastic shape at 6’4 close to 280. Hey, if he is looking to get back into the game and is willing to take the vet’s minimum, it can’t hurt

To Ferregamo:

Do you use this name in honor of former LA Rams qb Vince Ferregamo? I grew up in Flushing, but when I moved to DC, I became a big Rams fan unti the moved to St Louis. I was teamless for a couple of years and then came back to the JETS when Tuna showed up. To sum it up, Ferregamo…I like it.

Forget about Wadsworth. Is this some kind of a joke. He has been out of football for 7 years and he is 32 years old. We are sitting here on the edge of our chairs waiting to see who the JETS sign and this is what we get. Wait until around Wednesday or Thursday for any action from the JETS. However in the meantime Johnny Mitchell is available
